  • Homecoming set for Saturday

    Join us for Homecoming this Saturday, the 11th. The university parade starts at 10 a.m. The JMC brunch and awards ceremony will follow in Franklin Hall. Cost is $25. To register contact Sharon Marquis at 330-672-8281. Kent State plays Ohio University at 2 p.m.

  • JMC faculty edit, publish in latest RCET journal

    Assistant Professor Joe Murray is the guest editor of the current issue of the Journal of the Research Center for Educational Technology. The issue focused on media convergence and digital story telling. Assistant Professor Candace Bowen and Comm Studies doctoral student Audrey Wagstaff, and Professor Fred Endres had research articles on scholastic journalism censorship and converged newsrooms in the juried publication.   • Jeanette Drake named PRSA Fellow

    JMC professor Jeanette Drake is one of just 19 persons selected for the 2008 PRSA College of Fellows. She joins faculty colleagues Bill Sledzik, Davis Young, and Dave Meeker, along with JMC Professional Advisory Board member Tom Duke. There are only 455 Fellows nationally out of some 22,000 PRSA members.

  • Fusion, DKS writers win national awards

    JMC students have won awards in the National Lesbian and Gay Journalism Association competition. Rachel Abbey received second place for her article tracing the struggle to get domestic partner benefits at the university. Adam Griffiths earned third place for a column in the Stater on the same topic.
