Our Alumni

Kent State JMC takes great pride in the accomplishments of its more than 5,500 alumni. Many of our alumni have risen to top positions in media companies in the region and throughout the country, and they have won numerous professional honors, including 12 Pulitzer Prizes.

Our alumni often return to share their life experiences with students and faculty and even to teach specific courses in their profession. They also have given generously over the years to help fund special projects and to provide scholarships.

You can learn more about our alumni and development program in the Alumni Fast Track.

Kent JMC's Professional Advisory Board
In 1997, Kent JMC formed a professional advisory board to assist with strategic planning. The board, which includes 21 prominent Kent alumni among its members, provides the School with a strong linkage to industry leaders and other media professionals to ensure our continuing ability to prepare students for 21st-century media careers on paper, on air and online.
