Public Relations

The Public Relations concentration in the Kent JMC master's degree program is designed primarily for individuals who are interested in pursuing or refining careers in public relations and advancing to a strategic or management level

Students must complete a minimum of 36 total hours of coursework that includes either a six-credit master's thesis or a three-credit master's project.

    • Public Relations (F2F) Tactics
    • Public Relations Online Tactics
    • Master's Professional Project

PROFESSIONAL PREREQUISITE COURSES
Required only of students lacking the necessary background for the program. This course will not count toward degree completion.

  • Reporting for Mass Media

ELECTIVE COURSES
All graduate students must complete 8 to 11 credit hours of elective coursework.

• Choose from elective and special topics courses in JMC: ethics, financial management, nonprofit or corporate public relations, business-to-business, crisis management, international public relations, publications and myriad other specialty areas taught by faculty and industry experts.
• Choose from electives outside of JMC, including business, communication, sociology, and psychology.
