When you enter Kent State University as a freshman, you may be admitted directly into a one of the 10 JMC majors if you meet certain criteria or you may be admitted as a pre-major. To be admitted directly into one of the 10 JMC majors, you must have: • A 3.25 high school GPA, and a 24 ACT score If you are admitted as a pre-major, you must meet certain requirements to become a JMC major. These requirements are: • Achieve a 2.75 grade average • Complete two freshman English courses with a combined "B" average • Complete Introduction to Mass Communication with a "C" or better NOTE: All JMC majors must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA overall and in the major in order to graduate from the program For more information contact Professor Greg Blase, the Kent JMC undergraduate coordinator, via e-mail at gblase@kent.edu or through the School's main office at (330) 672-2572.
