Double Counting Policy:

  • You may "double count" the single-asterisked courses in each major's Additional Rquirements section as both an LER and as the Additional Requirement
  • If you do this, you are fulfilling two requirements with one course. However, even though the course counts in 2 categories, the hours are not doubled; therefore, you must add the credit hours of each "doubled counted" course to the General Electives section

Liberal Studies Requirements

At least 65 hours of coursework must be taken from the College of Arts and Sciences or in survey and nonskill courses in Art, Architecture, Music or Theatre. Courses from Modern and Classical Language Studies are included in this category. This 65 hours is determined by adding all LERs (36 hours) and any non-major courses fitting the above description (including electives) that have not been double counted as both an LER and Additional Requirement
