Freshman Ebonee Hall, 15, said she enjoys
writing for the paper. Hall wrote a story on adoption in the December
issue of The Odyssey. The story looked at what choices are available
to teen parents.
She said her biggest challenge is getting stories
done by deadline.
Hall said she enjoys when NABJ members come to help out.
"I learn about them," she said. "They
teach us to be good writers and they try to improve our writing."
She said she does not want to be a reporter; she
would rather be a pediatrician.
"I might come back next year, if Ms. Thompson
is teaching," she said.

Sophomore Mario Elders, 16, is a reporter
for The Odyssey, the school paper at Canton Timken High School.
This is his first year writing for the paper and
so far he has written three stories. He usually covers the athlete
of the month.
Elders said sometimes reporting can be hard because people do not
always want to talk. He said he is not sure what he wants to do
in the future but he may stick with journalism.
